I came across this website -- Become.com. It appears to be a Google-run shopping search engine, presently in beta test mode. The implied "becoming through shopping" motif aside, I'm interested to see what Google does for shopping online.

Google has already had a shopping search engine for some time now. It's called Froogle. As far as I'm aware, "froogle it" is not a term in common use.
On second thought -- my association of this website with google is purely aesthetic. It *looked* like a google website. And, looking deeper, it may have nothing to do with google at all.

Actually Become.com is a new search engine that I launched with my former partner of mySimon Yeogirl Yun. It is a specialized search engine for shopping that competes with Google. We plan to launch comparison shopping later this year that will compete with Froogle.
